Brewers Custom and Classic Car Night

Posted by Doug  Published in Uncategorized

Hello, my name is Josh and I am a sales representative for the Milwaukee Brewers. We are going to be having a special date at Miller Park dedicated to custom and classic car collectors. It will be on September 23rd and is called Brewers Custom and Classic Car Night. I wanted to be sure to pass along the information to you. I placed a link at the bottom for you which I am hoping you will be able to post on your website as well as any other classic or custom car websites that you know of. The link provided with allow any one who you provide the link and password with (password: car), which presumably would be anybody who frequents your website, the opportunity to purchase ½ price Brewers tickets for the game on 9/23. If all goes well this year, next season we could definitely expand on the idea of Brewers Custom and Classic Car Night and hopefully make it a successful event for years to come. Thanks so much for your time and I look forward to seeing you down at the park on September 23rd. I would appreciate you posting and providing this link to any car enthusiasts you know. The more the merrier!

It will be held at the home of Doug & Sue Hahn’s near LaValle. It is potluck so please bring a dish to pass. We will be grilling something also. Tableware will be provided. We hope that we could start gathering at the farm around 6:00 pm. for socializing and refreshments. We will plan to eat around 7:00 p.m. We will have an assortment of refreshments on hand but feel free to bring your own if there is something special that you like to drink. There are some road signs as you leave Reedsburg on 33 toward LaValle that show that 33 is closed ahead but the roads are open to our place. I hope that the link to the map below will help you find us but if you have any questions please phone: (608) 985-7297 or e-mail dchahn@mwt.net . Ron & Kari will lead the group to the picnic from Portage for those of you who would like to meet at the K-Mart Parking lot. Fall Run

Our Fall Color Run this year is scheduled for October 18, 2008 and we will be traveling northwest to Treasure Island Resort and Casino near Red Wing, MN, along the Great River Road.  We will be meeting in Sauk City, WI early and our trip will cover approximately 235 miles to our destination with lunch along the way.  We hope to arrive early enough to enjoy some of the wonderful options available at the hotel for dinner and entertainment.  If you wish to see visit the website, please go to www.treasureislandcasino.com and look at the dinner cruise possibility, or the entertainment scheduled for that weekend.  Of course, meals, entertainment and gambling will be at an additional cost to you, depending on what you choose.

Our rooms will be $109.00 plus 9.5% tax for Saturday night and we have 30 rooms held.  You will need to call 1-888-867-stay and give them your credit card to hold a room under your name.  The block is currently being held under the Columbia County Corvette Club name.  Once guaranteed to your credit card, cancellation must be made 24 hours prior.  These rooms are held until September 27, 2008 and will be released if not guaranteed by then.  Since there are only 30 rooms held, I would suggest getting your reservation in as soon as possible if you wish to go.  If there are any questions about the trip, just call Chuck or Barb at 493-2187.

Thanks everyone for coming Sunday. We were able to raise ~$450 for the American Cancer Society. I know it’s not easy to give up a beautiful Sunday afternoon in one of the busiest months of the year. That’s what makes it even more special that you gave of your time and your support to this event.

Thanks Again,

Doug & Sue

Summer Trips

Posted by Doug  Published in Trips

Last year Sue and I decided that we were going to take a road trip to the west coast. After telling friends of our plan we found that it was something that others wanted to do also. As the plans progressed the group grew to 8 Corvettes that would start out together on what turned out to be a trip of over 6000 miles in two weeks. We had some great experiences, got to see some fantastic sights and best of all we were able to share it with friends and those who would become friends.
The reason I write this is that we are again in the very early stages of planning 2 trips this summer. The first is to Niagara Falls and begins June 21st. Our plan for this trip is to be gone a week. I am hoping to make part of this trip in Canada so passports will be necessary. The second is September 6th southward to Savannah Georgia and including the Tail of the Dragon, Maggie Valley and more. We hope to do this trip in one week also.
We will be meeting several times before the trips to make plans. If this sounds like fun and you want join in on one or both of the trips please let us know. If you’re not sure and you just want to sit in on some planning feel free to do so. Our first planning meeting is April 13th. Contact us for the details. The idea is to have fun and you are welcome join in.

Website Changes

Posted by Doug  Published in Website

Hats off to our clubs web designer Greg VanBlaricom. He has and is making some exciting changes to our website. The most recent changes are that of the Photo Gallery and Blog Page. This is all new to the club website and looks to be something that people can get involved in as much or as little as they would like. Please take some time to check out the CCCC website( http://www.columbiactycorvetteclub.org/ and keep in mind that this is a work in process. We ask for your patience, we realize that some things like the members list that needs to be updated and we are working on it. I hope that everyone tries to set them selves up a login and password. After that you will be able to post photos and join in on the conversation in the blog page. Feel free to contact me if you have any problems getting set up. I’ll post a link to an instructional 11 page PDF that may help you through the process of setting up your login.
